My husband LOVES Shepard's Pie. As a native New Yorker, he's pretty selective of his Shepard's Pie critique. Today, he had Shepard's pie lunch special with a side salad. It's on the "10 under $10" menu, so it's a smaller portion size. The salad was beautiful but nearly a full serving size all by itself! He rates their Shepard's pie as one of the best. I ordered Pub Pretzel Sandwich, which is corned beef on a grilled pretzel bun. It was really good. So if you are in Palm Harbor and in the mood for good Irish food, this is the place!

Good: the building and decor is very cool. Fish was tasty. Bad: McDonalds is more Irish than this food. Slowest service ever. Not even busy. Place is empty and it took 15 min to get water. Drove 45 min to get here because I heard the fish and chips were great. The battered fish was actually very good, but the chips were terrible. Flanagan's in Dunedin is better.

My co-workers and I went to Peggy's during our lunch break because we had gone there the year before. When we came in, it was packed with other people from our training. The server immediately told us they were short staffed because no one told them so many people would be coming for lunch. With that, we were prepared to wait a little longer than normal. Not an entire hour. So they brought us to-do boxes and our checks before we even got our food. I refused to pay since I was still waiting for my do is even after everyone else got theirs. They never even made my food! Instead of comping my meal voluntarily, a friend insisted they not charge me. So, 15 minutes later I had my meal, which was just an appetizer anyway and we were on our way. It turned out to be worth what I paid for it. I had the Reuben egg rolls. They were extremely greasy because they most likely didn't drain them before playing them. The wait staff were so frazzled that they came off sounding like it was the all the patron's fault they were so short staffed. We probably won't be back. It's too bad because we liked it before.

We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and there were plenty of seating. We brought our 3 children with us and seated ourselves away from the bar, in a booth. The staff was friendly and our beverages served quickly. Our salad/soup arrived promptly and was salad seemed extremely fresh and the Cheese Beer soup was hot and delicious and homemade. Our dinner was comprised of 10 mild wings, 2 cheeseburgers, Smother Chicken, and Shepards Pie. We all cleaned our plates. The food was absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable. We would definitely come back with and without the kids.

Took friends from out of town who had been to Peggy's before and wanted some great Irish food. What a disappointment! The menu had been changed and it was Taco Tuesday...what? An Irish pub with an established reputation for amazing Irish fare having a Taco Tues? oh, and the rest of the menu was a hodge podge of Cuban, Jamaican, you name it fare. Our little waitress, Tasha, was the high light of the meal. The mojo pork lacked ...mojo! and was heavy on the mustard. The battered fish was ok but there are so many places to get good fish. And took the small Shepard's Pie off the lunch menu and made it a huge dinner fare. We do not eat that much and do not like left overs. So let down.

Peggy O'Neil's is a Palm Harbor legacy, the food and drinks are superb. The staff is friendly and the service is fast and courteous ! I've got to say you will usually find me across the street , but from now on I'll have to use alternate street parking so I can visit them both weekly!

It's a good Irish sports bar. Cozy feel. Music hasn't started yet. Waiting for it to kick it up a notch for a Saturday night:-) If your looking for a bar to hang out at and enjoy a wide arrangement of food. It all looks so good and hard to decide on what to to choose. Going for the traditional- Shepard's pie. Can't resist. Bring on the fun. The live band tonight is awesome.

Cute little Irish bar. They had live music on a Saturday night. We only stayed for a couple of beers, but will definitely be back.

This establishment also has a location on Tampa Rd., near Racetrack, but this was my first visit to this location. This is a fun, lively place to go & chill or meet some friends. The interior appears fairly new. They have tables, but they also have a fairly large bar. Not sure why, but I prefer to sit at the bar... maybe it's the fellow comrades or a great spot to people watch, not to mention an easy distance and quick access to the bartender. I can't say anything about the food, except some plates passed by me that looked good and smelled great. I believe I could eat here with no problem. I love, love Long Island Ice Tea, and when I was told of the $8.00 pitcher special, I was pretty skeptical about lack of alcohol. Another advantage to sitting at the bar is being able to actually see your drink being made. All I can say is that there certainly was no lack of alcohol and it was prepared quite well. Not exactly sure if we needed the second pitcher, but what the heck, we got 2 pitchers of this glorious drink for less than the price of just 2 of the cocktails. What's a girl to do? Sharing is caring, 2 pitchers of Long Island Ice Teas and who cares, life is good.

excellent service. server was well-informed, articulate, everywhere and nowhere. perfection! love love. be back soon. love the big booths. they have tables, window seats, outdoor seating, laughter. just a great, dark, woodsy, nice place. again, will go back because of the excellent service. (and the really nice ladies' room, too)

The food here sucks. Either your typical crappy bar food or bland no flavor. Good atmosphere and the service is usually pretty good. Cool place to get a drink but I don't recommend eating here.

I've been here before but never reviewed. Met up with a few friends tonight. Apparently it's a 2 for 1 night, which includes some wines and well drinks. I had wine, but didn't order food, which was 2 for 1 apps, I believe. The other ladies seemed to enjoy some wings and shrimp dishes. They are also here pretty often which tells me Peggy O's is pretty consistent. I'll be back.

Almost got off to a rocky start when the young lady working the bar was acting like she didn't want to honor the Yelp check-in offer. But La Chica asked to speak to the manager, and that was the end of that. Our check-in offer was honored and we moved on to better times. We had some drinks and hung out for about an hour before moving on to the next bar, but we did look over the menu and they have some interesting items like Irish Nachos and meatloaf potato skins in Guinness gravy, plus they do .50 wings on Mondays, so we might go back tonight actually.

While driving through down town Palm Harbor, the Husbeast and I decided to go out to dinner at Peggy O'Neills. Now I'd read some pretty negative press about it on 4square, about how the service was lacking, but our experience wasn't bad at all. Our Waitress, Alex was very quick, and when asked what was good, since it was our first visit, she was quick to point out the fish and chips, the meat loaf and the mac and cheese. Taking a cue from the suggestions we decided to order the fish and chips and the meatloaf, both were fresh and tasty, the meatloaf came with a gravy (I got mine on the side) that was made with Guiness and was absolutely decadent. My husbeast found himself dipping his fries into it as a treat. We actually started the meal with fried pickle spears - YUM! and ended it with something that looked like a mushroom, but really was a chocolate cupcake with espresso ice cream in the center. it was truly a meal-ender. Even with the two of us, it was far too much to eat. The service, while not exactly first class, was good. It could have been quicker, but it was a busy Friday night at a hopping bar. The live music though, was worth mentioning.

I hate it when a Yelp check-in offer is questioned. I love the wingie specials and the Chili-infused vodka is to die for, but like I said: I hate it when a Yelp check-in offer or deal is questioned, and that's my only grudge.

When we first walked in very strong bleach smell. Yes, we want it clean but not offensive. Pls switch cleaners if you can. Beer was warm this time. Very disappointing. Plus side was best bloody Mary in town! Mac and cheese was nice and creamy and we added the blackened chicken which was plump and juicey. Good service and great atmosphere. We want to try it again.

Ran in there for a quick drink. We were happy to hear that they had a few drink specials. They had tons of (small) TVs and they were playing all of the football games. There was a great crowd and it was a fun atmosphere. We got the bill quick and we were glad we stopped in.

Awesome place to eat & bring your family! Great prices and great food to match! The service is spectacular and the managers are always checking up to see how your visit is. Also if you fill out a comment card, you can get either a free entrée or appetizer for your bday. They also have great specials going on every week whether it's 2-4-1 appetizers, 2-4-1 pub burgers or 2-4-1 fish and chips. The weekends are great here too because they play live music Friday and Saturdays! The bar always has new beers on tap and they have great happy hour specials! Bartenders are super friendly!! :)

Dined again @ Peggy's three days ago. As always, food was delicious, but dining pleasure was overshadowed by its incessant "up charges." This time it was due to my substuting swiss for cheddar cheese on a menu burger. Had the waitress advised me, I would have stuck with cheddar, but no notice was given until bill arrived. My dining partner's burger bun was served cold, although mind was mildly warm, both toasted. Our fault for not making waitress aware, but why would two identical sandwiches, served at same time not be close to equal? The restaurant is usually so close to perfection, but my experience is that it nearly always stumbles somewhere. Sad!

I love this place! On this particular visit, I had the meatloaf sandwich...ohmygawd! So delicious, the meatloaf reminded me of my mom's. It's always a good time at Peggy's-the atmosphere, the daily specials....the servers. Those uniforms...gonna get me in trouble! Can't wait for .50 wing night!

Jenna (the cute blonde behind the bar) suggested the fish tacos. They were amazing!!!! Who knew an Irish place could make such great tacos! Great beer selection.

Very good food. Everything I've eaten there was awesome. They serve their sandwiches and burgers with homemade chips, or you can pay a fee and get fries. Definitely give the homemade chips a try! They are my favorite thing on the menu and are so good! They have an irish nacho appetizer which is made with the homemade chips and has a bunch of cheese and other delicious toppings. It is HUGE and such a good value. Very good!

Good place to enjoy a couple of drinks. Great st paddy's day party. The food is good and the drinks are a little weak and pricy. Stick to the beer and you'll have a four star experience.

Great beer selection, lots of TVs, and friendly service. The food is pretty average, definitely not bad, but nothing special. The usual bar food, which is fine for what Peggy O'Neills is trying to be. A classic Irish pub it is not, however.

Been here twice now on visits, once for dinner and once for lunch. I am not sure how "authentic" this is as an irish bar, but its a decent offering. We were there for lunch the the Palm Harbor Citrus Festival and the service was reasonable. Drinks were good. I had the fish and chips and they were nicely done, not too greasy,. Could have used one more filet, but that's me. Overall, solid joint. Bathrooms are a problem. they are single stalls for both guys/girls. no fun to spend too much of your time waiting for one to open up.

Great people and super cool decor. I love this little town with all the shops and so close to the beaches. A great place to go and get your Irish drink on. Just make sure to catch the Saturday night band

This review is only for the late night bar crowd. We came here the other Saturday to hang out with friends. I've never been in this area before of Palm Harbor and I found the area to be charming. Peggy's however, was a bit of a bust for me. Sure on a Saturday night I expect most places to be busy but the bar area was so packed you could barely move. It was also incredibly loud inside with the band playing, which made it impossible to talk to anyone. Plus, there is only one bathroom per gender which, IMO, is insane for any restaurant or bar that has more that 10 tables. The staff was mostly friendly, but attempting to order drinks was a long wait at the bar, and they were priced much higher than average. While there are several other establishments nearby, this really seemed the only place that had any sort of live action. I definitely won't make the trip just for this place again.

Friendly and efficient service; however, husband and I both tried the lunch specials of tacos and chicken sandwich and found them to be mediocre at best. We did both enjoy the beer cheese soup so all was not a loss.

Pros: Tasty and affordable breakfast, so-so lunch/dinner fare with $$ prices. Sometimes has open mic nite. Cons: Packed to the brim. get there early for a seat. $$$ drinks. Barflies everywhere. unless you are an employee, relative or classmate, forget about good service. Getting a drink in here is worse than getting one in LV at a busy nightclub counter. wtf.

I went here with my wife and buddy to get a drink. If you do visit just get beer. Two of us ordered captain and coke. I had a single tall that tasted just like coke and my buddy had a double that tasted exactly the same as mine. Beers are two dollars and are most likely not watered down. Definitely nothing special here.

It was a medium class place. Lots of flat screen TV's. Looks like they upgraded. I would go again because the atmosphere was good and the food was decent. I hate when the waitresses stack my condiments on top of the main meal when they bring it out. So that the plastic bottom of the cole slaw cup was touching the fish and chips. It was a bar food type of place and it wasn't bad. The staff could have been more friendly and outgoing. They had some good looking waitresses working there, but they were not very outgoing or energetic.

Probably a 3.5 in reality, but not good enough to round up to a 4. The chicken wings were pretty good, no weirdness in the meat (always afraid) and nice and crispy and flavorful, we had buffalo, and jerk. The jerk was my favorite, sweet and peppery, and not as messy. I had a cuban sandwich and knew what I was getting into...Irish Pub Cuban Sandwich....you know whats coming. It was actually not bad.I did NOT like the accompanying potato salad, it tasted like bad mayonaise. One person had a burger, and everyone else had fish n chips which they said were excellent. The decor is very Stereotypical Irish Whimsy, which I love. Service was MEH. Our server was disinterested bordering on rude. Would I be back? Well my friend who lives down the street from here likes it, so probably I will.

Very upset that I had to stand with the friggin band while I waited for the ONE bathroom stall. Unbelievable. Not cool. Totally ridiculous. For as many females there to only have one stall. Not worth the hassle. Fix that problem.

I have eaten here SEVERAL times and turned my wife onto Peggy Oneill's and every time we went the food was pretty darn good! The BEST fish & chips I've EVER had anywhere! It's the reason I kept coming back and the atmosphere is great too. A nice place to grab a bite to eat, a beer, and watch your fav sport.

Best chicken wings EVER! Delicious! When I say this it actually has some weight to it because my fiance and I have tried chicken wings all across the country. We both love wings! The menu is good with many authentic Irish dishes and many American favorites as well and is priced reasonably. The decor is great! I love all of the funny Irish jokes and leprechauns hanging around...great stuff! I will be back!

In the heart of downtown Palm Harbor sits this little Irish pub with some very descent grub to take down with a couple pints of Guinness. On the menu there is a wide range of traditional Irish dishes with also a flare of there own American meals going from burgers to Turkey on a baguette with brie. It is defiantly a fine establishment with great waitresses and staff.

  • Andy F.

This place is crowded at happy hour. The menu is very good for an Irish pub, with such yummy apps as the blue-cheese covered steak tips. Great atmosphere, decent beer selection (but only the crappy beers are usually on HH). Great waitstaff, mostly cute =)
